For many years I struggled to keep my weight down. I tried every fad diet, joined and rejoined the popular slimming clubs and learnt the frustrating lesson that unrealitic targets and food deprivation don't work in the long run. As a busy mother with two children, whenever I lost weight I returned to my former eating habits and inevitably the weight returned.

I joined gyms and often didn't use them for months on end as I lacked motivation. I went to many personal trainers, and although my fitness level improved, the weight still refused to budge. But now that's all in the past!

My passion for health and fitness encouraged me to do in-depth research into what really works and to change my career, qualify in personal training to the highest level and study optimum nutrition.

I've dropped 4 dress sizes and established Stepchange to enable you, my clients, to lose weight, get fit, improve your health and look and feel great through a combination of exercise and eating plans that are tailor-made for you.

Joel
BA Honours. Diploma in Personal Training.

Joel graduated from the University of Southampton with a BA Honours in Leisure Management. During this time he developed a keen interest in health and fitness which led him to extend his skills and knowledge by undertaking the Premier Personal Training Diploma. Having worked for several major sports and leisure groups and with several years of personal training experience behind him, Joels training techniques are the hybrid of various styles and knowledge he has acquired over many years in the industry including pilates, aerobics, spinning, body sculpting, toning and weight management.

Abigail
BSc Honours. Diploma in Nutritional Therapy. BANT.

Abigail graduated from Leeds University in 1994 with a BSc Honours degree. Her keen interest in diet and healthy living developed into a passion for optimum nutrition and wellbeing which, in turn, led her to extend her knowledge and qualifications. After studying for three years Abigail qualified as a Nutritional Therapist and is a member of the British Association of Nutritional Therapists (BANT). Abigail believes that a holistic approach is the best way to achieve optimum health. By looking at the overall condition of the individual, it is possible to devise a nutritional programme that will attain a state of optimum health. This is often done in combination with an exercise programme and some lifestyle changes. The greatest reward for Abigail is seeing the positive changes experienced by clients who have made these changes.

James
BSc Honours Sports Conditioning and Coaching.

James graduated from the University of the West of England (UWE) with a (Hons) Degree in Sports Conditioning and Coaching. Whilst at university he played rugby at both county and national level and also worked with his rugby club as an assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the academy players. He has since developed his role in the fitness industry as a fitness / lifestyle consultant and personal trainer. With several years experience behind him, James has acquired a variety of training techniques ranging from core stability, toning, bodybuilding, elite athlete training and weight management; skilfully utilising these to help clients achieve their personal health and fitness goals.

Sophie
Premier Personal Training – Advanced Level. REPs (Register of Exercise Professionals).

Having always been involved in sport Sophie achieved formal qualifications with Premier Training International, gaining the highest level possible qualification in personal training. She has since worked as a Personal Trainer with Stepchange. Having achieved this award she is continuing her studies and is following a BSc degree path in Biomedical Sciences.

Sophie is a keen sports enthusiast. From a young age she represented her area in competitive diving, plays lacrosse, tennis and squash competitively and holds the 2* Kayaking award. Whilst gaining experience as a Personal Trainer, her fitness focus, enthusiasm and energy have been honed in on body toning, weight management and body sculpting.

Alison
Advance Diploma Life Coaching, Coaching Academy Neuro-Lingustic Programming practitioner, Master Practitioner Skills for Eating Disorders

Alison is an experienced Life Coach and NLP Practitioner specialising in Weight Management Coaching using NLP, Psychology and Behavioral Modification Techniques. Alison has 15 years first hand experience with emotional eating and the difficulties surrounding food problems. Her years of experience include applying the knowledge of how to take control of cravings and emotional eating using a combination of healthy food choices, regular exercise and NLP techniques. In addition, she works closely with clients to discover and release the subconscious roadblocks that prevent permanent weight loss and overcome the cause of emotional eating. She designs plans that create a healthy relationship with food and develop a natural, slim mindset, leading to a healthier happier life.
